Petit Amélie

Petit Amélie designs, creates, and sells furniture for nursery, toddler, and children's room. Their designs are timeless and gender-neutral. The business idea came from a mother who had a vision for her daughter's room but couldn't find furniture that would fit the vision. It is a brand that creates from love and with love, from one mother to another.

Our role

Our role was to redesign the client's website and optimize it for web and mobile. The goal of the new design was to reflect Petite Amélie's core values, personality, and to inspire parents to be creative and decorate a beautiful and memorable room for their children to grow up in.

Work stages

Research

We conducted extensive UX research to identify what areas needed improvement or a complete redesign. We also wanted to understand our client's ideal customer and what they were looking for in an online shopping experience. Next, we applied our findings to UX/UI design.

UX/UI

The in-depth UX research phase consisted of several research techniques. We looked into personas, we conducted desk research, Google Analytics analysis, competitor analysis, benchmarking, cognitive and heuristics analysis. We created a webpage prototype based on findings and then conducted usability testing to find areas for improvement within our design.

Visual

We created a Style Guide around pastel and light color palette that was included in the company's brand book. The main idea for typography was to have a modern and simple look. The same philosophy was applied to icon designs.

Documentation

Each stage of the project was documented so that we could follow and report on the entire process. Recording the information in this way helped us with analysis and clarification of the design process.

Results

Thanks to our in-depth research, we created a website that was user-friendly, intuitive and reflected Petit Amélie's creative and loving personality. It also provided a seamless and modern shopping experience on PC and mobile screens.
