Personas

While working on the project, it is necessary to remember who the users of the product will be. During the design work, it is useful to visualize them with the use of Personas. They are fictional characters, which are created based upon research in order to represent the different user types that might use your service, product, site, or brand in a similar way. Personas are most often based on interviews with real users, prepared on the basis of the initial assumptions described in the proto-person. They are an appealing description of their attributes, cognitive skills, needs, and goals. This provide a human “face” so as to create empathy for the persons represented by the demographics. Proposed solutions can be guided by how well they meet the needs of individual user personas. Features can be prioritized based on how well they address the needs of one or more personas. This essence of real users helps in quick prototype testing. This way helps to determine the qualities of and differences between users and develop a hypothesis from the research, determining the qualities of and differences between users. Defining personas helps the team have a shared understanding of the real users in terms of their goals, capabilities, and contexts. This allows you to design the product so that it meets the users’ needs and their entry barriers.
